Top Ten Tuesday: Summer TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was started way back in June 2010 by The Broke and The Bookish because of a love of lists and books. In January 2018 it was taken over by That Artsy Reader Girl. Jana assigns each Tuesday a different topic for discussion, she has a scheduled lists of topics on her blog, which you will find here.

Can I just say, I love this week’s topic! I really enjoy reading contemporary books during the summer months, so this will be my contemporary TBR for the summer. Although I will be reading a fantasy novel or two in between! I also plan on rereading the entire ToG series in anticipation of the release of the final book.

1. Did I Mention I Love You by Estelle Maskame (trilogy)

Cheating slightly here… I’m going to be reading & reviewing the fourth book of the series ‘Just Don’t Mention It’ so in anticipation of that I’ve borrowed the trilogy from the library to read. I’ve read the first book so far and although the type of romance took me by surprise, I did enjoy the story.

2. This Adventure Ends by Emma Mills

This book was gifted to me by a friend fo my birthday. I’ve heard only praise about Emma Mills’ books so I’m excited to read one myself.

3. Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard

I’ve had this book for a few months now from the library and I really need to make time to read it.

4. Goodbye Perfect by Sara Barnard

Here’s another book that I borrowed from the library months ago and never returned! I really enjoyed A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard so I’m intrigued about her other books.

5. The Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed

I was told this book had a similar feel to the novel Moxie, so I borrowed it from the library. Even though I adored Moxie, I never got around to actually reading this one.

6. I Was Born For This by Alice Oseman

Another birthday present, I’ve heard high praise for this author and I also received a promotional post card and button about this book in my May Illumicrate box. I think this book will be worth the hype.

7. Big Bones by Laura Dockrill

I received this book as an e-arc from Netgalley but then managed to trade a book for a physical copy of Big Bones on a book swap platform.

8. 36 Questions That Changed My Mind About You by Vicki Grant

I saw this book on a friends Instagram story and instantly requested it from the library. Unfortunately it’s stayed on my shelf since then.

9. Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland

Exactly the same as number 8.. requested from the library before placing it on the shelf where it’s been ever since! I hope to tackle these unread library books this summer.

10. Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli

Another little cheat… as summer has already begun I thought I’d include a book I’ve recently read (whilst on the plane journey home from a holiday). Leah on the Offbeat was a perfect summer time read as it is mostly set during the summer in America.

And that wraps up my Summer TBR. Let me know if you’ve read any of these and what your thoughts are or if you could recommend any more contemporary YA books, leave a comment below!

If you feel like buying a few books for your own Summer TBR… feel free to use my affiliated link for Book Depository. I would very much appreciate it.

Bookishly yours,

Hâf
