The Six for Sunday challenge is hosted by A Little But A Lot. The prompt for today is six of my favourite LGBTQ+ books! Here are my six, and let me know your favourite LGBTQ+ books in the comments.
1. Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo.
This duology includes so much diversity, from LGBTQ+ characters to disability rep, it’s incredibly well written and one of my all time favourite series’.
2. Simon vs The Homosapiens Agenda, The Upside of Unrequited and Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli.
Becky Albertalli’s novels are amazing and each one includes diverse LGBTQ+ characters, Leah on the Offbeat was one of my top five reads of 2018.
3. Heartstopper by Alice Oseman
Originally a webcomic brimming with cuteness it’ll be published in the UK on the 7th of Feb. This graphic novel about two boys falling in love is one I’m recommending to everyone! Alice Oseman has also written YA novels which include LGBTQ+ and mental health rep; Solitaire, Radio Silence and I Was Born For This.
4. Light Years by Kass Morgan
I read the arc of this sci-fi novel that was included in Illumicrate, it’s split into three POV’s which includes LGBTQ+ characters, I adored the entire story and I can’t wait for the sequel!
5. Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde
A nerdy novel following a trio of friends attending comic con. I love this book, it explores friendship, feminism and love as well as including autism rep. A must read for any fangirl/boy.
6. What if it’s us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera
The cutest heartbreaking novel I read last year! Becky Albertalli has co-written this fantastic book with author Adam Silvera who’s also known for writing LGBTQ+ characters into his own books; They Both Die at the End, More Happy Than Not and History is All You Left Me.
And there’s my six for Sunday!
