Guilty Reader Book Tag

I saw this tag on @alittlehazebookblog and decided to give it a go! This tag was apparently created by ReadLikeWildfire on YouTube but the video is now unavailable.

The aim of this tag is to answer ten questions about your bookish habits to see if you are guilty or not!

Have you ever said you’ve read a book when you haven’t?

I don’t think so, I happily admit I haven’t read the many, many books on my TBR!

Verdict; Innocent.

Have you ever borrowed a book and not returned it?

No! I do keep my library books for months and months.. and months! But I always return them.

Verdict; Innocent.

Have you ever read a series out of order?

I think the first Harry Potter book I read was the Order of the Phoenix so technically I did read that series a bit out of order! I think I also started reading The Chronicles of Narnia out of order as a child so I’m hoping to read them in the correct order sometime.

Verdict; Guilty!

Have you ever spoiled a book for someone?

Yes.. but only if they’ve asked me too! If I’ve rated a book badly sometimes people ask me to tell them what happened that made it deserve such a bad rating as they aren’t going to read it themselves. So does that class as spoiling someone if they don’t actually plan on reading it?

Verdict; Guilty, maybe?

Have you ever dog eared a book?

No! That is one of the worst things you can do to a book, I hate dog eared pages!

Verdict; Innocent.

Have you ever told someone you don’t own a book when you do?

I don’t think so. I often rave about my library books and how many I’ve borrowed so I don’t think I’ve ever wrongly admitted to owning one. My own personal library has steadily grown over the past few years as well so I’m not quite so dependent on my library but I still borrow as many as I can.

Verdict; Innocent.

Have you ever skipped a chapter or a section of a book?

Definitely, I haven’t in a while I don’t think, but it’s definitely something I used to do a lot. I get very impatient if a book is dragging so I’ll skip a few pages to try to speed up the action!

Verdict; Guilty!

Have you ever bad-mouthed a book you actually liked?

No.. I love the books I love and I dislike the ones I dislike. There’s nothing to be ashamed about for reading and loving different books to your friends.

Verdict; Innocent.

So eight questions; three guilty verdicts and five innocent verdicts. I’m quite happy with that! We all have some bad bookish habits!

What’s your worst bookish habit?

If you’d like to do this tag, consider yourself tagged!

Bookishly yours,

Hâf
