#PrideLibrary21 announcement

Anniek (Anniek’s Library), Michelle (Michelle Likes Things) and I are back for the third year in a row with another Pride challenge, full of prompts for bookstagram, blogs or both! For the past two years we’ve hosted this challenge to post (about) queer books every day, and it is always such a huge success that we’re doing it again! We really hope you’ll all join in this year to celebrate Pride month.

Here are the prompts for the challenge:

Graphic of the Pride challenge prompts.

You can choose to participate on Instagram, on your blog or both! All we ask is that you only use or discuss books with LGBTQ+ rep in your photos/posts as this is a challenge to celebrate Pride month. *We have now realised that prompt no. 16, Sapphic Sunday doesn’t actually fall on a Sunday (we were looking at the wrong calendar!!) so we’ll just call that one Sapphic books.

Further down this blog post you’ll find book suggestions for all the prompts mentioned in the challenge, so if you’re struggling to find a book with asexual rep for example you’ll find some recommendations in this post. If you need more information, don’t hesitate to DM me on Instagram, I’m always more than happy to help!

Anniek is introducing the challenge in more detail over on their blog, so head on over if you need more information.

Last year, Michelle wrote a fantastic post explaining the importance of queer representation in novels and the challenges in getting these books into the hands of queer readers. A very relevant discussion that is well worth reading!
